Viking quarterback Christian Ponder sustained a hip pointer injury Sunday after taking numerous hits against Denver Sunday.  Head coach Leslie Frazier announced the injury to Ponder at his Monday press conference and said he is concerned about Ponder but the trainers say Ponder should be fine to play Sunday at Detroit.  Ponder is likely to be limited in practice this week.

Frazier also indicated that running back Adrian Peterson is “very close” to returning from a high ankle sprain to his left ankle.  Peterson has missed the last 2 games.  The Vikings play at Detroit Sunday at noon, pregame on WJON at 11am.
