MINNEAPOLIS - Quarterback Matt Cassel will be returning to the Minnesota Vikings next season. Sources say the Vikings re-signed Cassel to a two year deal worth $10 million.

Cassel was brought on by the Vikings last year as a backup for Christian Ponder. Cassel eventually took over the starting role later in the season, making six starts for Minnesota.

The Vikings went 3-3 with Cassel starting. Cassel threw for 1807 yards, 11 touchdowns and 9 interceptions during the season.
