The Vikings will reportedly release backup quarterback Donovan McNabb today.  McNabb started the first 6 games this season and had a record of 1-5 as a Viking starter.  He threw for 1,026 yards and 4 touchdowns with 2 interceptions with a quarterback rating of 82.6 this season.

The Vikings signed McNabb to a 1-year contract prior to the season and by releasing him could save themselves $1.8 Million if McNabb is claimed off waivers by another NFL team.
