Waite Park Approves St. Cloud Toyota’s Permit to Renovate Former Dunham’s Building

WAITE PARK -- Redevelopment in the former Dunham's sporting good store will soon get underway.

Waite Park officials approved a Conditional Use Permit for St. Cloud Toyota Monday to expand the dealership into the vacant property.

The intent would be for St. Cloud Toyota to use the facility for additional sale space, service area and make it an extension of their current location, which sits adjacent to the site.

The renovation would also call for additional landscape work, painting, parking lot redesign and emergency access redevelopment.

Planning and Community Development Director Jon Noerenberg says St. Cloud Toyota also owns Waite Park Auto and Sport and have discussed the possibility of consolidating the business to the proposed expanded location.

The space is independently owned and is separate from the remaining multi-property where it is located.

Noerenberg says further site plans need to be addressed before construction begins.

Dunham’s closed back in January.
