Warrant Featured On 80′s At 8 With “Down Boys” [VIDEO]

The band from Hollywood known as ‘Warrant” were very popular from 1989-1996 and were able to sell 10 million albums.
Actually got my chance to meet the guys and introduce them on stage and what a fun bunch they were.

In the late 80′s early 90′s they were known as the Sunset Strip Glam Metal Band but probably best known for the sound they produced which fell under Melodic anthems/Ballads.
Their debut album ‘Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich‘ went double Platinum and contained the hit, ‘Heaven”, which hit the Billboard Top 100 and also Number 1 in Rolling Stone and the song ‘Down Boys’
On the song “Down Boys”, if you listen closely, you can hear a sample of The Cars’ “Bye Bye Love”, it was also a nickname for the band.
More success followed with their second album which also went Double Platinum on the strength of the hit single and risque MTV video, ‘Cherry Pie’
After the death of their manager (Tom Hulet) in 1994 and the coming grunge movement, Warrant began to see their better days as a band behind them.
August 11, 2011, it was announced by the L.A. Police Department, that Jani Lane former lead singer had been found dead in a Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills, Calif. He was 47 years young.
