Halloween is finally here and it's time to shell out a ton of money for candy - just to give it all away.  For me this is the worst part about Halloween, because I have a problem spending my money.  But as any good father would do I end up shelling out the cash for the candy.  I will say though that I usually only buy a couple bags, so when it's gone it's gone - time to turn out the lights and pretend I'm not home.

That being said, it seems for many people, this time of year means secluding themselves in their dark bedroom or in any dark room of the house.  When I bring my daughter out trick-or-treating it seems more and more people have dark houses with no signs of activity.  Really?  You can't just be a good neighbor for one night and oblige your fellow neighbors by keeping a light on and giving out candy?
