What’s the Deal With That Chicken Fat Song? [VIDEO]

I was watching TV and that iPhone commercial comes on with that, “Go you chicken fat go” song and I was wondering what the deal was with that song, and apparently I’m not the only one. Here you go. 

The new iPhone commercial shows people working out and using their iPhones to keep track of their fitness progress and it’s set to a song that keeps saying “Go, you chicken fat, go!” It would get stuck in my head all the time and I was wondering what the deal was with that commercial, so I looked it up.

The original song was written by Broadway composer Meredith Wilson and sung by Robert Preston. It was written for John F. Kennedy’s Presidential Physical Fitness Campaign in 1962 and “Chicken Fat” became the official theme and was played in gymnasiums across America.
