A great guitar solo can make a song, right? There certainly is no shortage of great guitar solos out there. Eddie Van Halen,Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour and the list goes on and on.

Sometimes when I'm relaxing at home listening to music through my headphones, I tend to go to the great guitar stuff. last night I was listening to a good deal of Stevie ray Vaughan. The guy was simply incredible on guitar.  He's one of those players where is seems like the music is coming through him.  Miss the guy.

When it comes to guitar solos, a couple of my very favorite would be "Stormy Monday" by the Allman Brothers. Duane Allman is great on this tune. BTW, Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore is one of the best live albums ever recorded. What a great band.

And then there is "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" by CCR. It often gets overlooked as the great guitar solo it actually is.

What's your favorite guitar solo?
