Which Version of Van Halen Was Better, David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar?

It's always a good topic of conversation. Which version of Van Halen was better? We'll just forget about the Gary Cherone version, because that one really sucked. Personally, I liked both versions for different reasons.  David Lee Roth was a great showman and until the last few years could carry a tune.  I think the Roth version of the band was balls to the wall rock. However, I think the writing was much better with Sammy.  Plus Sammy can really belt out a tune.  What do you think? Dave or Sammy?
