Why The New Superman Movie Man of Steel Is Going To Suck: Superman’s Dad is Alive

Warner Bros/DC COMICS

If you’ve seen the most recent trailer (below), you’ll notice a stunning scene where Superman is in space talking to Jor-El in front of what looks like a spaceship. SO not only is Krypton fine, but the old man is still dishing out advice. If this is true, it fundamentally changes what Superman/Clark Kent is all about; he’s one of a kind, all alone in the universe and he’s constantly struggling internally with the huge differences he has from the people he has grown to love on his adopted planet. He can never truly be one of them, because he’s got super powers and this massive responsibility to keep the humans and his loved ones safe.
