The Minnesota Wild have acquired forward Chris Stewart from Buffalo and Minnesota native defenseman Jordan Leopold from Columbus today, the final day before the NHL trade deadline. The Leopold deal sent Justin Falk to the Blue Jackets

Stewart has scored 126 goals and 127 assists in 443 games with the Avs, Blues and Sabres. He was selected in the first round in the 2006 Draft. He notched a career-high 64 points with the Avs in 2009-10. In Buffalo this season, he totaled 25 points (11 goals & 14 assists) in 61 games.

Leopold, from Golden Valley, Minnesota, skated in 18 games with Columbus this season, posting a goal and two assists. Leopold has skated in 677 career NHL games with seven different organizations (Calgary, Colorado, Florida, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, St. Louis and Columbus). In 12 NHL seasons, he has scored 67 goals and notched 146 assists.

The Wild host the Ottawa Senators tomorrow night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
