The Minnesota Wild (40-25-7) beat the visiting St. Louis Blues (45-21-6) 6-3 in a matinee game this afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Wild jumped out to a 4-0 lead before hanging on for the win.

The game was played this afternoon to accommodate tonight's WCHA championship between Minnesota State and Michigan Tech.

It was the Minnesota's second win against the Blues in a week after a 3-1 win at Scottrade Center last Saturday. If the Stanley Cup Playoffs began this weekend, Minnesota would play St. Louis in the first round.

Wild goals came from Stewart, Vanek, Parise, Brodin, Fontaine, and Koivu. Minnesota goalie Devan Dubnyk, making his 31st consecutive start, made 26 saves.

Minnesota continues to hold down the top Wild Card playoff spot in the West, three points ahead of Winnipeg in the second and final spot. There are just ten regular season games left on the Wild's schedule.
Next up for the Wild; Monday at Toronto at 6:30 PM CT (Radio: 1240 WJON, TV: Fox Sports North).
Go Wild!
