The Montreal Canadiens exploded for four second period goals to snap a scoreless tie in a 6-2 rout of Minnesota Tuesday night. The loss was the first for Minnesota in the month of November (7-1-1).

Neither team scored in the first period, but Montreal seized control in the second period thanks to Max Pacioretty's natural hat trick.

Pacioretty made it a 1-0 game at 2:57 of the period, then struck again at 10:06 to make it 2-0. His third goal came on the power play just 3:30 later and gave Montreal a 3-0 lead.

The Canadiens took a 4-0 lead on Michael Bournival's sixth goal of the season at 16:16, and Wild goalie Josh Harding was taken out of the game and replaced by Darcy Kuemper.

The Wild got their first goal from Nino Niederreiter at 5:30 of the third period to make the score 5-1. Dany Heatley added a power play goal to make the score 6-2 with seconds left in the third period.

The Wild are at Ottawa Wednesday night.
