The Minnesota Wild struggled to score goals despite acquiring forward Jason Pominville from Buffalo.

The Wild were shut out by Los Angeles 3-0 at Staples Center Thursday night. The loss was Minnesota's third straight, and puts them in sixth place in the Western Conference with 44 points.

Niklas Backstrom was yanked by head coach Mike Yeo after allowing two goals in the first 3:07 of the game. Darcy Kuemper allowed just one goal the rest of the way, but the Wild could not manage a goal against Kings goalie Jonathan Bernier.

Minnesota actually outshot LA 23-14. Pominville played nearly 19 minutes and was a -1 with two shots on goal.

The Wild are off until Sunday when they head to Columbus.
