The Timberwolves lost 105-101 in their season opener Wednesday to the Grizzlies in Memphis.

The Wolves trailed 53-47 at the half and kept the game close until the final minute, when Memphis was able to pull away.

Thaddeus Young led Minnesota in scoring with 26 points on 10-18 shooting, with Shabazz Muhammad (13) and Ricky Rubio also scoring in double figures. Rubio also added seven assists but turned the ball over seven times.

The Wolves host the Pistons on Thursday night at Target Center.
