I discovered Pink Floyd at the age of four and never looked back.

It was winter. I remember riding shotgun with my mother in our woody station wagon. She was wearing a brown and orange stocking cap with a dingle ball on the top of it. We had the radio dialed up to her favorite station. I was looking out the window and not really paying attention until I heard children singing. Being a child myself, I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

It was on this day back in 1980 that Pink Floyd's The Wall started its 15 week run at #1 on the U.S. album chart. It was their third U.S. #1 overall and has sold over 8 million copies. I personally own two.

Every time I hear "Comfortably Numb", I can't help but think of the Live 8 concert in 2005. It was the last song Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright ever performed together. I sat in front of my television that day waiting for this performance. After The Who finished, Mom, Dad and I were all cheering. I disappeared into another room, weeping silently in anticipation of what was to come. Pink. Floyd. Together. For the first time since they performed The Wall on top of the Berlin Wall before it crumbled in 1989. When they finally took the stage, there I sat in utter disbelief at what I was seeing. I didn't speak, I didn't move.
