The Texas Threesome has pulled the plug on their shows for the East Coast as Hurricane Irene roars north.

ZZ Top was slated to perform at the NYCB Theater on Sunday, but has canceled the event ahead of Hurricane Irene.

According to Pollstar.Com, the concert promoter has juggled the schedule and ZZ Top will be playing the club on Monday. If it's still there.

Bill Medley and Paul Revere were also set to play shows there this weekend, but those shows have also been moved to another day. The Monkees have been canceled indefinitely.

Hurricane Irene weakened a bit overnight, but it could intensify again before hitting North Carolina. The three major forecast models that the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center use to predict storms all jived on which path this storm was going to take.

Evacuation orders are in place and seven states have already declared a state of emergency and the storm is forecast to pass within 30 miles of New York City on Sunday at Category Two strength and the massive New York transit system is preparing to shut down. Makes sense since the subway system can barely operate during rush hour in the rain. A transit shut down would make evacuation of the city impossible as the greater New York metro area contains roughly 19 million people. Toss in a few hundred thousand tourists who have no idea what they're doing or where they're going, this could get very interesting.
