142 Pound Cougar Hit By Car in Northern Minnesota
No, not that kind of cougar. I'm talking about the large predatory cat that is rarely seen. I've heard many stories of people spotting them or catching them on surveillance cameras.
Last week, one of these mysterious cats was hit and killed by a car just over an hour away up Highway 10, near Nimrod, Minnesota.
Jesse Koskiniemi took some photos of the big cat and said the cat weighed 142 pounds and it's paws were the size of a grown man's hands. Females generally can reach 140 pounds , while males can weigh up to 220 pounds.
According to the DNR cougars are "highly secretive" and the chances of encountering one in Minnesota are extremely slim.
