I love to go hiking in the Fall.  Not in bad weather, or if it's too hot.  I'm picky about my hikes.  During the fall, when it's something like "hoodie weather", it's the perfect time to go hiking around and take in some nature.

THERE ARE MORE THAN JUST WALKING TRAILS IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA

Usually it's hiking, as in walking the trails.  Occasionally there are some great biking trails to check out.  You can get a lot further on those trails, so why not?  Enter the Mesabi Trail which is a trail located in the Iron Range from Grand Rapids to Ely.  It's 165 miles and it's paved!  Plus, there are some really cool things to see.  One of which happens to be the tallest bridge in Minnesota.

... longest uninterrupted stretch on the whole trail, 79 miles from Grand Rapids to McKinley, plus a crossing of the tallest bridge in the state at 204 feet. Look down if you dare!

JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE ON A BIKE DOESN'T MEAN IT'S AN EASY GO

Apparently this trail isn't the easiest to do, even on a bike.  This is the most demanding entry on our list of scenic routes without hiking, with grades up to 8% and roughly 3,000 feet of total elevation change.

TAKE YOUR TIME AND ENJOY EVERYTHING NATURE HAS TO OFFER

So if you love to hike some very scenic trails, and take in all the nature you can, check out this bike trail.  You can stop and take pictures or just admire the view as many times as you would like to.  There's no judgement with how many times you need to stop and take a scenic rent for a few before continuing on.  If you actually did this whole trail, you might need to take a long weekend to do that.  And it's a good idea to go with a couple of people.  Just for safety and companion reasons.

See you on the trails!
