1969 saw the release of three Creedence albums, each one more successful than its predecessor and produced a cluster of iconic hits..

"Down on the Corner" was released as a single in 1969 (September), eventually backed by "Fortunate Son" which also became a hit.

it reached number three on the charts, the song has since found new life becoming the soundtrack for the Walgreens television commercial.
