3D Metallica Concert Movie Coming In August

Why should the Justin Biebers and Jonas Brothers of the world be the only ones getting 3D concert films? If you've been yearning a hard-pounding in the theater, spread your ear-holes for the 3D concert film, 'Metallica: Through the Never.'

Our friends over at Ultimate Classic Rock reported on this documentary, which was filmed in Vancouver last summer by 'Predators' director Nimrod Antal and was shot over the course of three concerts. Evidently, the concerts included all manner of 3D-friendly pyrotechnics, floating coffins and -- most bizarrely -- "planned malfunctions," such as crew members faking injuries on stage. In fact, 'Chronicle' and 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' actor Dane DeHaan plays a young band crew member who is sent out on an urgent mission while the band is playing a rousing live set in front of a sold-out crowd and unexpectedly finds his world turned completely upside down.

Weird!

Picturehouse, the distributer behind 'Pan's Labyrinth,' will release 'Metallica Through The Never' on August 9. And no, this isn't an official sequel to the amazing documentary 'Some Kind of Monster,' although that would be amazing.
