Their most successful album, only having charted at #4 (U.K.), their most successful album was their previous album of three years 'Paranoid' charted at #1.

The significance of the album, 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' was the mark of things to come, as the band would add strings and keyboards and took advantage of the use of an orchestra.

All different types of mainstream media would give the album pretty good reviews (aside of Heavy Metal critics).
