Although I’m a diehard fan of heavy, progressive rock, I’ve come to love 80s music in my old age. It’s energetic, cheesy, and just downright fun. Some personal favorites are Van Halen (with Sammy Hagar – sorry, not sorry) Aerosmith, Journey, Rush, Queen, and Iron Maiden.

Although I know I have a bias for rock music, there was some pretty catchy pop music back in the era of poofy hair and ridiculous outfits as well. The 80s would’ve been an awesome time to be alive, simply because of all the cool music (unfortunately I missed the mark by a few years – 1993.)

Anytime I can catch those tunes played live, I take do. I’ve seen my fair share of impressive 80s cover bands over the years, including the one and only “Brat Pack Radio.” I’ve had the privilege of seeing these guys a couple of times and they always put on a killer show.

If you’re like me and crave seeing the old glam rock/pop tunes played live, you should definitely check out Brat Pack Radio’s performance at West Bridge Park in Monticello. You can catch them from 6 pm to 9 pm on May 31st. And did I mention, admission is FREE?
