Joan Jett hooked up with Paul Cook and Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols and recorded a version of "I Love Rock 'N' Roll"  in 1976 and strategically placed it on the B-Side of her single, "You Don't Own Me."

Joan did record the song again, this time with The Blackhearts in 1981, the rest is history as both Joan and the song have become permanent hits.

Along with Joan, a guitarist who has played with many an artist Ricky Byrd are the two featured guitarists on the song.
