Storm Thorgerson was fascinated with the structure of the pyramids and thought it worked well with insanity of the album. Storm stated, "that they are fantastic structures intended to elevate Pharaohs and assist in transporting wordly goods skywards to heaven - and how mad is that?"

Before it's release the,'Dark Side of the Moon" had a different title, it's working title was, 'Eclipse (A Piece for Assorted Lunatics).'

The main reason for the working title was merely because another band beat Pink Floyd to the punch using, 'Dark Side of the Moon'. A band by the name of Medicine Head got their first when they released their third album in 1972, therefore Pink Floyd dropped the title name, however; Medicine Heads album bombed and once again, 'Dark Side of the Moon' was a go with Pink Floyd.
