Amazing Recovery of Child Thrown from 3rd Floor Balcony at MOA
Most of us probably remember the time when we heard about the little boy who was thrown off the balcony on the third floor at the Mall of America. It happened six years ago as the little boy and his family were standing outside of the Rainforest Cafe.
A random man walked over to the family, grabbed the little boy and just threw him off the balcony. Luckily, there were two nurses on the floor below and immediately called 911 and began CPR. After he was rushed to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, he remained there for 4 months. Mulitple surgeries, rehab and physical therapy,
From Inside Edition:
The child, Landen, has made an incredible recovery! He is now playing some light sports with friends, and doing other things that "normal" kids would be doing at his age. If you didn't know that something tragic had happened six years ago, you probably wouldn't be able to tell. This is amazing.
Landen's mother, Kari, says that she has forgiven the man who threw her child off the the balcony. She knows that he suffers from mental illness, he had nothing against her family, nor did he know them. It was a random act, and she just hopes he is getting the help he needs.
Kari Hoffman said that writing the book was very therapeutic for her, and she just wanted to document the incident, and their family's journey for the last six years. But it turned into a book "Miracle at the Mall" which is available now.
