According to a Poll – Here Are The Two Riskiest Things About Grilling
Grilling - in this part of the world, people will grill all year 'round. In the summer it's just outside, or camping or wherever you can. In the winter, people still grill just stading right outside of their garage, or use a smoker, or whatever is your preference.
Some people can get a little intimidated by the grill. Sometimes I can be one of those people. The biggest intimidation - starting the gas grill. I hate the poof! Then the running out of propane with no warning. I know there are ways to make sure you have enough - or at least to check to see how much you have. But generafly, if it's me, I will just run out, and have to run to exchange the tank at the nearest spot to do that.
WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST RISKS ABOUT GRILLING
There are universally a couple of things that people consider as the riskiest or intimidating things about grilling.
According to this poll, the first one is just what I said - the grill itself is kind of intimidating. The second one is grilling chicken. There really is a fine line between where it's done, there is no pink and having it turn out like a dried out puck. You want the chicken to be completely done so no one will get sick, but you also don't want the meat completely dried out. It takes some finesse.
A whole chicken is really risky! Make sure to get everything cooked evenly. That's a tricky situation. That's a much bigger deal than just grilling a few chicken breasts.
THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT PEOPLE ARE LEERY ABOUT GRILLING
There are a couple of other things that came up in this study that people think are super risky. They are mac and cheese - why are you grilling that? Watermelon - same question. And pizza. I think you might need a specific grill for that to turn out exactly like you would like it to. Wood-fired? Yes, please.
MAKE SURE TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS BEFORE GRILLING
Whatever you are grilling, just be careful and use the right utensils. And most of all, when cleaning it, it's probably not a great idea to use a wire brush to clean it. Those little wire brush pieces can sometimes stick to the grates and then get into whatever food you are grilling. So - best to find another way to clean your grill. Just another thing to worry about.
