Basilica Block Party Back after 2 Years, See The Entertainment Lineup

The Basilica Block Party has been a staple during the summer for years.  In 2020 it was suspended because of the pandemic...like everything else. In 2021 it did come back on a much smaller scale, but after that it was completely on hiatus for the last two years.

This year, the Basilica Block Party is returning.  It was normally held next to the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis.  But now will be moved to Boom Island Park.  This is a two day festival and will be held for two days in August.  August 2nd and 3rd.  Most of the lineup has been announced with tickets going on sale this Friday, March 22nd.

What is the reason for the change in location?  Short answer is space.

Boom Island's capacity will be 30,000 people. The original location could fit only 16,000 to 17,000 people. There will be two stages instead of three, one for the headliners and another for local acts.

There will be more than 20 bands including a national act stage and also a local stage.

They are calling this the Basilica Block Party: Bigger, Better and Back Together.  Headliner for Friday is the Goo Goo Dolls and Saturday will be the Counting Crows.

Other bands that have been announced are:

 The Fray, Dean Lewis, Red Clay Strays and Yam Haus on Friday, and Needtobreathe, Judah & The Lion, Phillip Phillips, Indrid Andress and Guytano on Saturday. 

There are several levels of pricing for this event.  They vary from the VIP experience with lots of amenities.  But it will cost you.  $349 for one day, $599 for both days.

The other option is to go with the Fanzone tickets. Those tickets $169 for one day, or $299 for both days.  So you do save a little by buying both days at once, if you are going to go both days, that's the way to go.  Here is what is included with those tickets:
