Hard to believe it was 50 years ago that the greatest rock festival ever was held. It was a crazy time when there was no social media but in spite of that, word got around and roughly 500 people traveled to New York state for a weekend of peace, love and great rock.

The lineup for the weekend, although not mega stars then, was a great one. Crosby, Still, Nash & Young, Joe Cocker, Grateful Dead, CCR, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Canned Heat, Sly and the Family Stone, The Who, Santana and many more. Wow!

Carlos Santana recently said they played Woodstock as a favor to the promoters. They had not even released an album yet and were relatively unknown. Carlos sites the success of the band to their early exposure at Woodstock.

I'm sure you've all heard the story of Carlos and the rest of Santana dropping acid thinking they had hours before they had to play. Well, things didn't go that way as they were called up early and tripping pretty good.  In the video below watch the drummer. He's having a very good time.  Carlos said he couldn't feel his fingers while on stage but they sounded great.  Check it out.
