Better Business Bureau Warns Of Valentine’s Day Scammers

"Valentine's Day scam" almost sounds redundant. I think most guys realize it's a day that must be observed whether you like it or not.  If you don't think so, try just ignoring it and see what happens.

Well, if you are single and looking for love, watch out scammers are at it again creating fake profiles on dating sites or social media. They will try make a "love" connection with you online and then put the con on you for money.

I realize many people are lonely, especially with the pandemic it's been pretty difficult to meet people. People working from home, bars aren't what the were for meeting people, so many are using social media.

The person behind the fake profile will try to establish a relationship over social media. Then they may drop into conversation that they are having money problems that are worrying them.  This should be a huge red flag. DO NOT give anyone you don't actually know any money. I guarantee once you send them money, they will disappear.

It's sad to think there are these scum bags out there but they are.  I recommend, as does the Better Business Bureau, that you check out people that you meet on dating sites or other social media.

There are sights that you can do background checks on people.  The few bucks that will cost you may save you a lot of money, not to mention heartache.
