ST. PAUL -- Political analyst Blois Olson has given the Minnesota State Legislature a grade of a C+ so far for this session.

The legislature is on its Easter/Passover break this week and will return to St. Paul on Tuesday of next week.

This is a bonding year so a bonding bill will likely get passed before the session ends on May 23rd.  It is not a budget year, so they are not required to do anything with the projected $9.25 billion budget surplus.

As for non-budget or bonding issues, Olson says he believes the bill that has the best chance of passing this session is to legalize sports betting.
