Why The Mall Of America Stands Out Among U.S. Malls

Alright - we all know how people from all over the world come to Minnesota to check out the largest mall in the United States. We, the people who live here don't really grasp the idea that this mall is also a tourist attraction. But it is.

So here we are with this giant mall. USA Today does a study on the top 10 malls of the United States. And the Mall of America actually comes in at number 2???!!!! What could possibly be better?

FLORIDA

Apparently there is a mall in Florida - yes, FLORIDA that the people who did this study think is better than the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

What does this mall in Florida have?

AVENTURA MALL

Located in Aventura, Florida, which is South of Fort Lauderdale and North of Miami, has a lot to offer.

DESCRIPTION

As the largest mall in the state of Florida, Aventura Mall has more than 300 retail shops, experiences, and dining options, to include the first Eataly in Florida. It also boasts a museum-worthy art collection. Design features include an art installation and fountain titled "Gorillas in the Mist," a koi pond, and a giant, chrome slide tower created by artist Carsten Höller. The Aventura Mall regularly hosts community events such as story time, weekly yoga, and a farmers market.

Ok, so it has some stuff. But does it actually compare to the Mall of America? Here is the description for MOA from USA Today:

As the largest mall in the U.S., the Mall of America is not only a shopping and entertainment complex, but one of the top tourist destinations in the country. Every year, 32 million people visit this mall's stores, restaurants, attractions, and hotels. At the center of the mall is Nickelodeon Universe, the largest indoor theme park in America. Other attractions include the SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium, Moose Mountain Adventure Golf, and the Crayola Experience. Visitors can find just about everything at the mall's 500-plus stores and dozens of restaurants.

When you read both of these descriptions, don't you think that the Mall of America sounds better? I do. But maybe the weekly yoga, and a farmers market puts them over the top. Who knows, but I'm sticking with MOA being the best.
