The anniversary of September 11th is two weeks away. It's hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years. That day was one of, if not the most shocking thing that Americans have seen in modern history.

And however the date is said or written, September 11th or 9/11, most of us immediately think of that day. There are very few dates that do that, and the ones that do are usually holidays.

There have been many songs written about September 11th. Look it up and you'll see a pretty big list of artists you know, and some you don't, that wrote a song about that fateful day.

One artist you do know is Bruce Springsteen. He not only wrote a song about it but an entire album. The song, and the album, is called 'The Rising'. If you've never heard it or really listened to it, give it a good listen now.

According to Billboard.com, the song has seen an uptick in sales in the month of August.

Bruce Springsteen’s song “The Rising” surged in U.S. download sales on Monday (Aug. 17), according to initial reports to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, following the track’s prominent usage in the first night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention. - via Billboard.com

It doesn't matter where or when it was played. Take politics out of it. The song and the lyrics are something we can all get behind. At least I hope.
