Candy Corn Pizza, Are you kidding me?
When I heard about candy corn pizza, I thought you have to be joking me. That sounds disgusting. The thought made me want to throw up in my mouth. There are all different ways to celebrate Halloween and here’s another way to spice up your Halloween season. This Halloween dish definitely takes the cake for being unique.Move over pineapple, candy corn has taken the #1 spot of “things that shouldn’t be on a pizza.”
Even pizza brand DiGiorno piped in, stating the didn’t care for the new Halloween candy topping on their pizza.
Even Chuck E. Cheese decided to jump on board and offer their own version of candy corn pizza. Wondering what kind of parents would think this pizza would be a good idea for their little ones. Not like the kids don’t get enough candy by trick or treating. Then after researching it I found out they don’t actually put candy corn on the pizza at all. In fact, Chuck E. Cheese’s Candy Corn Pizza is made with traditional crust, garlic mozzarella in the center, and cheddar cheese ring and around the edge, giving the pizza the appearance of one large candy corn.
There’s only one real acceptable way to eat candy corn on a pizza, and it’s as a topping on a dessert pizza. One pizza business, Pizza Pie Cafe, located in Arizona, Utah and Idaho, is offereing a dessert candy corn pizza for its customers if you really need your candy corn fix.
If you are feeling daring you may want to try it. Here is the recipe:
1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated sugar cookies
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup candy corn
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup vanilla ready-to-spread frosting
It is rated easy on the level of difficulty, it serves about 16 people, takes around 15 minutes to prep, and takes 20 minutes to cook. Perfect recipe for your next Halloween party or gathering.
Heat oven to 350°F. Line 12-inch pizza pan with foil; grease foil with shortening. Cut cookie dough into 1/4-inch-thick slices; arrange in pan. With floured fingers, press slices to form crust.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
Use foil to lift crust from pan. Carefully remove foil from crust; place crust on serving platter or tray. Spread peanut butter over crust. Sprinkle candy corn and raisins evenly over top.
In small microwavable bowl, microwave frosting on High 10 to 15 seconds or until thin and drizzling consistency. Drizzle frosting over cookie pizza. Cut into wedges or squares.
