Love says he's planning on 6 weeks and if he's back before that it's a bonus.

The Timberwolves closed the pre-season schedule with a road win at Milwaukee. Chase Budinger led the Wolves with 20 points and Nikola Pekovic chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds.

The Timberwolves won 95-76 in Winnipeg Wednesday night against Detroit. Chase Budinger led the Wolves with 21 points off the bench, Derrick Williams added 18 points and Nikola Pekovic added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Minnesota shot 46 percent from the field while Detroit was held to 32 percent.

Wolves' forward Kevin Love will not require surgery after breaking two bones in his shooting hand while doing knuckle pushups during a morning workout.  K-Love saw a specialist Thursday but will still be out 5-7 weeks.

The Timberwolves won at the FargoDome Wednesday night in their preseason opener. Andrei Kirilenko in his debut had a meager showing and Alexey Shved didn't score in 21 minutes.

The Timberwolves begin training camp at Minnesota State-Mankato inside the Taylor Center today.  The Wolves have many new faces this season including guards Brandon Roy and Chase Budinger and forward Andrei Kirilenko.

Timberwolves' point guard Ricky Rubio gave us an update on his recovered from a torn ACL on Thursday. Rubio says he won't rush to return and expects to be back in December or January. Rubio was injured against the Lakers at Target Center on March 9 while guarding Kobe Bryant. The Wolves were in playoff contention at the time when Rubio was hurt but the team finished the season 5-20.
