Caught on Dash Cam – Minnesota State Patrol Officer Nearly Run Over During Traffic Stop [VIDEO]

During a traffic stop in Becker County near Detroit Lakes, a Minnesota State Trooper was nearly run over when an SUV lost control from icy conditions.

For every police officer, a routine traffic stop could be their last. In this case it was a second from being a tragedy that would have likely cost the officer his life.

The officer is talking to the driver with the driver door open, when he notices over his shoulder that another vehicle was out of control and coming right at them. From the way the officer was sliding around trying to get out of the way, it was obviously icy road conditions. The SUV barely misses the officer and the car in the video above. The shocking footage was all caught on the squad car's dash cam.

This is another reason to slow down and use caution when you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road.
