I had the pleasure of chaperoning Townsquare Media's trip to the Renaissance Festival this past Saturday. Thanks for behaving yourselves, kids!

The weather was beautiful, the mead was tasty, and the crowd was festive. I also set a new record for steps taken in a day...since I got my new phone. In case you were wondering, I put in 10,000+ steps that day. I earned that mead!

My wife & I kicked off the day with celebratory mead. It wasn't as dark as I'm used to (mead lite?), but still a tasty way to start the festival. The bees loved it more than we did. I wore my yellow Loon shirt, and it turns out that bees and hornets LOVE the color yellow. Lucky me!

After polishing off the mead and getting a darker shirt at the nearest merch booth, we continued on; checking out vendors, games, food, and beer. My prized find is the drinking horn I found at Viking Vear. Guinness is quite tasty out of it (when I'm not spilling it all over my gut like a noob)! From what I was told, mead in a viking horn attracts far fewer bees than mead in a cup. Good enough for me.

We checked out a few shows, like the Fandazzi Fire Circus, Puke & Snot, and various dance troupes.

All-in-all, a fantastic time! Do check out the festival. And I do suggest Townsquare Media's trip package that includes the coach bus down and back. Parking is zero fun.

Huzzah!
