If you are a fan of bass fishing, get ready for this August, as a Bassmaster championship event is coming to a Minnesota lake. Leech Lake will be hosting the 2026 Strike King Bassmaster College Championship in late August.

Leech Lake is the third-largest lake in Minnesota. Just how big a lake is Leech? Well, it is more than 112,000 acres with 195 miles of shoreline. The big body of water should be a fun challenge for college anglers as the lake has different types of structure that fish like to hang out in, including weed beds, rocky points, and sand flats.

Isn't Leech Lake A Walleye Lake?

While Leech Lake has been known to Minnesotans and those who fish the upper-Midwest as a walleye destination, it's also a pretty good lake for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. With the event happening in late August, it could be a really fun Thursday - Saturday on the water.

According to a press release about the event:

"The Strike King Bassmaster College Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops features the top teams from across the nation who have advanced through the Bassmaster College Series. Throughout the season, teams compete in qualifying events in both the Legends and Lunkers Divisions to earn points toward a berth in the championship, where a national title and coveted opportunity to advance to the Bassmaster College Classic Bracket presented by Lew’s are on the line."

You can learn more about the tournament and how certain teams have done by heading to the Bassmaster website.

Beautiful Photos From Clemens Gardens

This weekend was a great one to get out and do something fun. I wanted to destress, so I drove over to Clemens Gardens for a nice stroll through the gardens. What a beautiful place it is. There are flowers everywhere, as well as fountains and statues. These photos only capture part of what's available to see, but in case you haven't had a chance to visit, now is a great time to view them, as everything is in full bloom. Take a look at some beautiful photos and then make a plan to take your own trip. All of your senses will thank you.
