Pick Your Own Apples & More at Collegeville Apple Orchards

It's a great time to take a little drive out to the Collegeville Orchard.  It opened for the season recently, and its a great place to pick up some pumpkins for the season, as well as many apples and some other fun fall items.

GROWING MANY TYPES OF APPLE TREES

Throughout the season the orchard has 20 different varieties of apples.  You can choose how many you would like to purchase too.  Anything from just buying a few to purchasing a 1/3 peck, a 1/2 peck, 1/3 bushel or 1/2 a bushel or even a full bushel.

VARIETY OF APPLES AND SOME OTHER FUN AND DELICIOUS PRODUCTS

They do have the favorites like the Honeycrisp, Mcintosh, Sweet Tango and many others, plus a variety of pancake, bread, cookie and cake mixes.  They have so many different jellies, jams, preserves and butter spreads that you will be able to find something that just about anyone will like.  If you love real maple syrup, there are varieties of that as well.

COOKBOOKS - ENJOY SOME DOWN HOME COOKING WITH THESE COOKBOOKS

I personally love the old "church" cookbooks.  These are recipes that your neighbors and friends have collected and added to a cookbook.  The Collegeville Orchard has a lot of these kinds of cookbooks.  So it's great to find some recipes that are like the ones that have been passed down through generations as best loved dishes.

THINGS FOR KIDS TO DO

Kids who love animals will enjoy the petting zoo, and feeding some of the animals, as well as getting to paint some of the smaller pumpkins. There are several activities for families to enjoy.
