Rod Stewart with The Jeff beck Group brought "Jailhouse Rock" back to life from when Elvis did it in 1957.

The arrangement is definitely on the hard side side of things compared the original, that being said it completely changed the song.

The song was composed by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and who knows if they would even recognize the song after that.

The performance of the song itself is one of Stewart's  triumphs as a take-no-prisoners singer.
