When most people think of adopting a pet from the Tri-County Humane Society, or anywhere else, usually what comes to mind would be dogs and cats. Maybe a guinea pig, a hamster or possibly a gerbil?  Or, maybe you would like to adopt something that is a bit more atypical.

That brings me to this event.  The Tri-County Humane Society is hosting an event where famiies can come in and check out some of the other pets that are available.

Join us for a family-friendly educational event in which youngsters and their adults will get to see more atypical pets, such as tarantulas, lizards, a frog, and perhaps even a snake!
The event will take place in TCHS' Training Room. The suggested donation is $10 per family; children must be accompanied by an adult.
To RSVP, please email marketing@tricountyhumanesociety.org - we look forward to you joining us! Space is limited, so we would love an RSVP.

This may or may not be your cup of tea.  And maybe this is a chance to check out some of these animals.  It might be just the right time to get over your heebie jeebies and come in and say "Hello" to these other pets.  And by heebie jeebies, I am referring to myself.  I'm the one who has issues with some of these pets.  Especially snakes.  I should go in there and check them out.  I probably won't be adopting them, but at least go in and see how they are with people.

The event is happening at the TCHS next Tuesday, October 15th from 5-6PM.  Yes, small windown there.  So, as stated above, it's great to make an appointment, or RSVP.  Maybe a little lizard would be a great starter pet.  Or might be a good "classroom" pet.  That way everyone can learn about them and what makes them tick.
