This has got to be everyone's nightmare who has driven on a frozen lake.  The fear that your vehicle may fall through the ice.  If you watch that reality show Ice Road Truckers, you will see that they always leave a door open just in case they fall through the ice.  That way they can get out if the worst happens.

This car has been hanging out in White Bear Lake for about a month.  It's tail end was sticking out, but as the ice starts melting, we all knew that eventually that car was going to continue to fall through the ice and would be submerged completely.  Still have to get it out of the lake.

Apparently the owner of the car did not have full coverage on the vehicle, nor did they have the funds to pull it out of the water, which can cost thousands of dollars.

Then, just as the deadline to get this car out of the drink was looming, a towing company stepped up to help... for free!!

From KARE 11:

American Towing and Recovery posted a statement to its Facebook page saying it would help the car's owner remove it from White Bear Lake "safely and at no cost."

"Today, we're stepping in to assist a local car owner in need by recovering a 2008 Buick Lucerne that's been submerged in White Bear Lake for nearly a month," the post read. "... Despite the owner's financial hardships, we're committed to removing the car safely and at no cost, ensuring the lake returns to its natural state."

So now, the car is out... probably junk, but it's out of the lake.  And now the owner can figure out what's going to happen to the water logged vehicle.  Can you imagine?  Yikes.  But how nice was it for the towning company to step in and help out?  Awesome.
