Is anyone really surprised by this?  I've always said that too much "together" time isn't always such a good thing.  I'm guessing that a lot of these quarantine divorce cases are from marriages that may have been on the brink of splitting up and the all of a sudden togetherness was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Since March, many couples have been stuck indoors mostly for quite awhile now.  I'm no marriage counselor but anyone would probably figure that all this "together" time is a recipe for divorce in some cases.

It seems that people looking into the possibility of going through the divorce thing has skyrocketed. In fact, the number of people looking into getting a divorce has gone up 34% from march through June compared to the same time last year.

Actual divorces took even a higher jump. Between February 13th and April 13th actual divorces had a 57% increase.

I think the longer a couple is married the easier it may be to survive all the time together.  Stats show that the newer the marriage is the more likely the quarantine was to make couples say "enough".

20% of newlywed divorces were from people who tied the knot in 2020. too much, too soon, I'm guessing.  Those who married in 2019, 2018 or 2017 accounted for 9% each. Couple who married in 2016 made of 7% of the divorces during the quarantine.

People that live in the South were 2 to 3 times more likely to break up their marriage during the quarantine.

Hope you all are holding it together. Remember, starting to date again may be a lot different that you remember it being.
