Don’t Be A Loser, Don’t Be A Left Lane Cruiser (Holiday Reminder)
It must be that time of year. Many Minnesotans are hitting the road this holiday season. I've noticed in the last couple of weeks that the number of left lane cruisers is increasing on our Minnesota highways and bi-ways. So, I thought I'd drop in a little reminder before the Summer traffic begins.
As you know, on a four lane highway, there is a right lane and a left lane going in each direction. For some reason, some drivers think it's just a game of pick a lane. Nope! You should be traveling in the right lane until you need to pass and then use the left lane. As soon as you have passed, return to the right lane when safe.
On 4 lanes other than Interstates, if you are going to make a left turn 20 miles up the road, there is no need to stay in the left lane the entire 20 miles..
It's really not that difficult. Yet, I see it every weekend when I'm on the road. People just cruising in the left lane and holding all the faster traffic behind them. I find this rude and dangerous at times. So, repeat after me, DON'T BE A LOSER, DON'T BE A LEFT LANE CRUISER.
Here at the LOON we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. Merry Christmas or whatever you are celebrating. Stay healthy, unfortunately, this COVID crap doesn't take holidays off, so be careful and considerate of your friends and family.
Thank you!
