Every Tuesday we get to speak with Kate from the Tri - County Humane Society here in St Cloud.  One of the better parts of our day because we get to hear about adoptable pets and hopefully help to set them up with a new forever home.

Today's feature was Drako.  He is a mix breed dog.  He is a terrier and pit bull mix.  He's just over 7 years old.  And Kate tells us that he hasn't been socialized enough.  He seems to be ok with other dogs, but he seems a bit scared of most things.  Just need some patience with this guy.  Best advice is to make an appointment with the TCHS and go and see him.  Spend some time with him and see if he will be the right fit for you.

Kate did tell us that it would be best to have a single person or a couple.  Or, if you do have kids, make sure that they are older... less "ruckus".  Little kids might not be the right thing for this particular pet.

When we got our dog, he was very skittish as well.  We just kept working with him, making sure that when we approached him we were slow and didn't use any sudden movements.  Eventually (within just a few weeks) he was so much better.  He was actually better within a few days, but still has those times when he's unsure.  It's like a night and day difference from when we brought him home.

If you would like to make an appointment to see Drako, or any of the other adoptable pets at the TCHS, just call 320-252-0896 or go online and go and see if he is the right fit for you!
