We're usually at the top of nearly every list of 'the best', but this time we made the top 10 in a much less proud list. It turns our we're a pretty drunk state!

USA Today just came out with their list of "America's Drunkest States" and Minnesota came in at an embarrassing #6 most drunken state in the country! Thankfully we weren't #1 as that would be too hard to take, North Dakota can take that one and hold onto it tight. I would have thought Wisconsin would have taken the top spot, but they must be trying hard to drop that award they've held for many years.

Here's the top 10 most drunken states in the entire United States:

  1. North Dakota
  2. Wisconsin
  3. Alaska
  4. Montana
  5. Illinois
  6. Minnesota
  7. Iowa
  8. Hawaii
  9. Nebraska
  10. Michigan

Notice how most of them are located in the upper Midwest? It must be because we're so close to Canada, eh?

Here's the 10 least drunken states in the entire United States (the least starting at 1):

  1. Tennessee (really, the home of more whiskey barrels than people?)
  2. West Virginia
  3. Utah
  4. Alabama
  5. Mississippi
  6. New Mexico
  7. Oklahoma
  8. North Carolina
  9. Arkansas
  10. Idaho

So I guess Minnesota strives to top the list in whatever list we could be included on. If there's a positive about being the 6th drunkest state in the country, it's that most of us "drunks" are Minnesota nice, so not a lot of fighting going on here in the bars! We hug a lot too, so let's be jolly and just have a good ole time as we celebrate the end of another dreadful winter. Cheers!!
