Eco-Friendly Egg Hunt Event Set For Royalton
Depending how early in the Minnesota 'spring' Easter happens, egg hunts can be kind of a crap shoot around here. One year the kids are out in a t-shirt looking for eggs, the next they are in full snow attire- or maybe even finding the eggs indoors.
Back in myyyyy day, the eggs we dyed were the eggs that we hunted for. Now, the eggs are plastic and my kids expect them to be filled with candy, trinkets or stickers.
It appears that, at least for this year, the later Easter (April 20th) will lead to favorable conditions for the various Easter-related events.
The Royalton Splash Park will be the scene for an 'Eco Hunt' event, which combines a classic Easter egg hunt with the opportunity to celebrate Earth Day at the same time.

The event is slated to happen on Friday, April 18th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.. Among the prizes listed is a '$500 Golden Egg Grand Prize,' the description says that the 'hardest egg to find comes with the grand prize.'
The grand prize was sponsored by Merten Family Motors.
Participants can pick up a participation basket and hunt for the eco-egg medallions. The baskets contain seeds, activities, candy and a map of the egg hunt boundaries.
In addition, free burgers and snacks will be available while supplies last. There will be a upcycling and donation station on-site as well that will take clothing and other items.
