UPDATE:  Apparently Eko Backen is no longer doing any tubing... just really cool weddings.  But, at the bottom of this post, you will find info for Powder Ridge in Kimball.  Great tubing hills.  And they have the lazer light tubing too.  That just adds an element of fun to it.

This time of year the best thing is to get out and enjoy the weather that we do have here in Central Minnesota.  Basically, embrace the snow and colder temperatures.  One of my favorite things to do is snow tubing.  Mostly because I don't downhill ski, snowmobile or snowboard.  So, tubing is the way to go for me.  It's fun!  It's fun in the Summer, too... but that's a whole different thing.

I found this snow tubing hill that is just about an hour and a half drive from St. Cloud.  It's located in Scandia- Eko Backen.  Apparently it's a picnic and wedding destination in the Summer, and the Winter it becomes this cool thing. They have 3 different hills with 2 tow lines, so the lines will be non-existent to very short, which is awesome!

The hours:

Visit Fridays 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturdays 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eko Bakken also has extended hours for school breaks!

If you want to go somewhere for some fun like this a little closer to St. Cloud, Powder Ridge in Kimball is also an awesome place for snow tubing.  And they have the lazer light night tubing that is really a lot of fun too.  Space is limited for that, so you do need to check out the times and make some reservations.
