Family Games to Play at Thanksgiving
When family comes to our house on Thanksgiving day, not only is the food a big hit, but also the games we play after - for hours on end. My job is to plan the games that will entertain us for the afternoon into the evening. Hope you enjoy my game lineup, and be sure and comment with any games you play...I'm always looking for new ideas!
These games are generally for ages 15 and up, which are the most enjoyable:
Uno - Great for ages 7 and up. Easy to understand and can be easily an hour of fun.
Spoons - Watch your finger and clip your nails. This game can get crazy, but a LOT of fun.
Tapple - One of my favorites of all of them but not awesome for children younger than 15 in my opinion. Beware if you have dirty-minded adults in the game, as they will say things that make any of us blush.
Electronic Catchphrase - We've played this for years and is something a 10 year old could play along with, but more fun with all adults.
Cribbage - It's usually a given that the older folks know this game, but even my 13 year old likes cribbage and has fun with the adults when playing it.
Yahtzee - If you're fine with helping your kids count then this is a fun game to include them on. I could play a dozen games of this and love everything about this game.
These are just our family's favorites, but I'm sure there are a ton more that make a great Thanksgiving after the dinner is done. Be sure to comment and let me know of any more games that are fun for you and your family. Enjoy your game night!
