Five Guys Closing Several Locations – is the St. Cloud Location Safe?
Lately we have been hearing so much about businesses, restaurants and retail spaces closing. It's sad to see anything like that, and sometimes it seems so odd. Like a business that is usually fairly busy, then the news comes out that they are permanentely closing.
WHY DO CLOSURES HAPPEN EVEN WHEN THEY ARE BUSY
Many times the closure is because of the parent company making changes, or because they want to focus on other locations, or whatever the reason is. It's not always because they dont have the business. Odd as that may seem.
This time, we get the news that Five Guys burgers is closing several locations across the country. This, after they have been voted as the best burger for a few years in a row.
WHICH LOCATIONS OF FIVE GUYS ARE ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK
From Yahoo News:
A recent U.S. restaurant ranking named Five Guys the best fast-food burger for the second year in a row but you might not be able to get it in your neighborhood soon. According to a report from Fast Company, Five Guys shuttered 14 American locations in early 2026—including restaurants across Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Georgia, and Nebraska—with plans to close even more.
So, from the looks of this, the locations in Minnesota, including the one here in St. Cloud is safe. But, also as you read above, there may be more closures. That part has not been decided as of yet, but the rumor is that most of those closures will be in California.
The closest closure of a Five Guys location to Minnesota is in Iowa. So, that's not too far away.
EVEN AS SOME CLOSE - OTHER LOCATIONS ARE STILL POPPING UP
The more than odd thing is that Five Guys shows a profit over the past few years. And even with that, they will be raising their prices slightly. They are also adding more locations, even as they close others.
So for now, if you love Five Guys Burgers and Fries, you can still get your fix here in St. Cloud.
